I was born in 1962. Coming from an artistic family. Mother a graduated fashion designer, father a poet. In my early years you could find me in the recordstore shopping for great new music on vinyl that I could play as a deejay. Enjoying people dancing and having a great time was a favourite way of living.
After several years of working as a deejay I changed my life to work as a designer. I started my own company called Ringel Design. I have done a lot of graphic-, industrial-, interior-, packaging and brandconcepts for great fashion and cosmetic companies in those 30 years. I'am very pleased that I have had the opportunity to do this.
Years ago I started painting. I paint large, abstract, raw, unpolished images, 'art driven by music', that's where the inspiration comes from. This is the reason why I name my paintings after my inspirators or their tracks. To mention a few; Fink, Daughter, Arve Henriksen, Alaskan Tapes, Olga Wojciechowska, Nils Frahm, Ólafur Arnalds, Apparat... names of singers, songwriters, musicians or bands. Musicians with a great sense of music. I want to thank them for all the inspiration that their music gives me.
All the paintings have all been photographed with a special technique, creating completely new images. By focusing on a small detail from the large work, there is an alienation, but at the same time a recognition to see and to feel. These photos are seen as endless mysterious landscapes in which you can dream away.
All the paintings and remixes are for sale, if still available. Most paintings are made in large sizes, starting from 100x100cm until 300x200cm. They all come with a black frame. It is also possible to make paintings on a commissioned base.
The Photography series are soon available at the shop on this site. Until then, If you're interested, you can write me an email with your request and I'll come back to you a.s.a.p.
